THE RIPPER - This bass is a MONSTER! I wanted to explore new possibilities in design while sticking within a basic framework....so there you go. The body as well as the bolt-on neck are made from exotic purpleheart wood. Is it heavy? Yes. Did I know it was going to be heavy? Yes. Does it sound good? Hell Yeah! I have never in my life heard a bass guitar tuned to standard E shake the rafters like this before....even if I do have to work on that Peter Steele physique to play it! I have rediscovered the love of the bass....and it is good. It has gravestone inlays across the 11th,12th, and 13th frets....very Tim Burton looking....and many thanks to Kevin Dredge for letting me steal his inlay idea. It also has the new Ripper head design! It has a set of Seymour Duncan Phase II Passive Soapbar pickups with volume, tone, and blend pots. Gotoh tuners and Hipshot bridge. 34" scale - 24 jumbo frets - 16" radius - The finish started as a natural satin, but it was just too pink....fast forward through refinish..... I went with a distressed antique look and then put a hand-rubbed oil finish on it. Price tag: $1,560 w/ coffin case. I haven't really decided if I'm going to let this one go or not, but you're welcome to make me an offter.
